If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by

skincare, long ingredient lists, products that promise everything but leave your skin worse — you’re not alone. We believe skincare should be simpler than that.

Suet

What Is Tallow?

Tallow is the fat from around the kidneys of the cow known as suet.

When carefully rendered, it becomes a clean, stable, and deeply nourishing ingredient used for generations in soaps, balms, and everyday skincare.

This isn’t leftover grease — it’s a purposeful, refined ingredient chosen for how well it supports the skin.

  • Why Your Skin Recognizes Tallow

One of the most important things to understand about tallow is this:

    Your skin already recognizes it.

Tallow's molecular structure mirrors the natural oils your skin produces (sebum). This similarity means it integrates seamlessly into your skin rather than interfering with your skin's natural processes.

That's why so many people experience their skin becoming more balanced—not just hydrated, but genuinely restored.

  • What Tallow Provides

Tallow is naturally rich in the nutrients your skin needs to stay healthy and resilient.

Fatty acids that support the skin barrier and help prevent moisture loss

Vitamins A, D, E, and K that support repair, elasticity, and overall skin health

Natural lipids that help calm dryness and irritation

Instead of constantly stripping and replacing, tallow helps restore what your skin is already designed to have.

  • Supports the Skin Barrier

Healthy skin isn’t about doing more — it’s about protecting the barrier.

Your skin barrier is what keeps moisture in and irritants out. When it’s disrupted, you may notice dryness, sensitivity, breakouts, or irritation.

Tallow helps reinforce this barrier by supplying compatible fats and nutrients, allowing your skin to function the way it was created to.

A More Thoughtful Way to Make Skincare

Choosing tallow is also about how something is made.

For generations, using the whole animal was a natural part of life — nothing wasted, everything valued.

Tallow is part of that tradition. It allows us to create skincare in a way that is more mindful, more sustainable, and more connected to the source.

Simple. Soothing. Made to serve everyday life.

The whole picture

Locally Sourced

Not all tallow is the same. Which is why we source our suet from local grass-fed cows, which results in a cleaner, more nutrient-dense fat. We take it one step further and render our beef suet ourselves, separating us from the ordinary. We make every tallow product in small batches, with intention, every step of the way.

A Return to Simplicity

Why We Choose Tallow

We choose tallow because it aligns with everything we value:

Frequently Asked

Does tallow smell like beef?

No — properly rendered tallow is clean and doesn't smell like beef. In soap, it leaves behind a soft, neutral scent, nothing like a cow. Any added essential oils are gentle, subtle and never overpowering.

Will tallow clog my pores?

Tallow is highly compatible with the skin and closely mimics your natural oils. Many people actually find their skin feels more balanced over time, not congested. A little bit goes a long way.

Is this safe for sensitive skin or children?

Yes. Our formulas are intentionally simple and gentle, making them a good fit for sensitive skin and everyday family use.

Will my skin need time to adjust?

If you’re coming from conventional products, your skin may go through a short adjustment period as it rebalances. This is completely normal and usually settles quickly.
